Warsaw, Poland! We finally arrived!
I was truly ecstatic to leave Albania. NOt that we didn't enjoy our stay in Tirana. I was really excited to see Warsaw. I had been dreaming of seeing the Polish capital for ages.
What an airport Munich International was! So modern! So nice! We had a few hours to spend in Munich before catching our onward flight to Warsaw, Poland. Our flight from Tirana left at 5:35 am and it lasted an hour and 50 minutes while the flight from Munich to Warsaw lasted an hour and 20 minutes. Both flights were smooth and uneventful. I was relieved to finally be on our way for our second visit to Poland.
After arrival at the Warsaw Airport, we got some money from an ATM and the took a train to the Novotel Centrum Hotel. The train ride was just 25 minutes long. The train ride was very quiet too. There were very few passengers on board. We checked in for the three remaining nights out of the original four. We were given room 822. The room was small and it was carpeted wall to wall. The bed and bathroom were clean. Anywhere I travel, I always hope to see wood flooring in the rooms I check in. Rooms of this type just gave a cleaner feel. Anyway, the hotel's location couldn't be beat. It was right in the middle of everything!
It was very hot during our first afternoon in Warsaw. For dinner, we went to the huge Zlote Tarasy Mall for some fish and chips at Nord See. We called it a day at 10:30 pm, completely exhausted. We were up at 2 am after all that day.
For the very first time I flew LOT Polish Airlines. To be honest, it didn't leave a very good impression after our flight was cancelled in Tirana. I have to say, I swore never to fly with them ever. However, it did redeem itself when the airline finally flew us from Munich to Warsaw. The plane was modern, clean and slick. I actually loved the flight.
