Moorten Botanical Garden

One of the attractions in Palm Springs Marc and I loved was the Moorten Botanical Garden.  Just a few minutes from downtown by car, the garden is actually small but full of beautiful and colorful cacti.  The admission fee was minimal and the the visit was well worth it.

There was a small greenhouse in the Moorten Botanical Garden which was replete with smaller cacti.  It was equally interesting and eye opening.  It just never dawned on me how many kinds of cactus there were.

Despite the abundance of desert plants in the Moorten Botanical Garden, it was surprising but wonderful just the same to see fossils from long ago.

The way out

I highly recommend a visit to the Moorten Botanical Garden.  A few reviews about this Palm Springs attraction criticize it for the lack of signs naming the plants.  I am afraid this is true.  However, the lack of signs shouldn't deter anyone from visiting the garden.  The plants are without a doubt pretty and colorful.   One review I read from the internet also stated that it was quite dirty.  Nothing can be farther from the truth.
