The Regional Sofia History Museum
The second museum we visited in Sofia was the Regional History Museum. It was not very big but it was very beautiful inside. All exhibits here were about the the life and culture of the city from a thousand years ago to the present time. It is housed in what was once the mineral bath building.
What I remember here the most was the floor dedicated to the religious icons. It was really eye catching especially since I am a collector of religious oil paintings. It looked like a church within a museum. The wing with some of the royal family's possessions also was very interesting. It was time well spent. Given the size of the museum, two hours was more than enough to view everything in it.
