Last Day in Quebec
On our last full day in Quebec, we wanted to explore Quebec some more. We visited Old Town once again. However, we really wanted to get to know the Quebec which the locals frequented. Hence, away we later went from the city center. One of our stops on this day was the area behind the Parliament Building on Parliament Hill. The area was full of residential houses, townhouses, and apartment buildings. Restaurants of all sorts of cuisines lined the city's streets as well. One guide book stated that this was the area where many government officials and employees had lunch during the week. From there we proceeded to the National Museum of Fine Arts of Quebec.
Our wandering feet took us to the following places.
Morrin College
While it may be a college now, it used to be Canada's first prison
Information about Morrin College, or should we say, Quebec's First Prison
The Canadian Institute
The impressive Musee National Des Beaux-Arts Du Quebec
This museum was huge. We spent a good three hours here looking at most of its exhibits. One room with a collage of paintings was to die for. I swear once I get to have a bigger condo in San Francisco, one wall will be turned into a gallery and it will resemble the one I saw in this museum. Sad to say, I only have a brochure to show for it. Photos were not allowed inside the museum.

Sad to say, our visit to French Canada ended here. I must say, I love, love Canada. I have been to Vancouver and Victoria in British Columbia, as well as Toronto in Ontario. On this my third and memorable visit to the US's neighbor to the north, I simply fell head over heels some more with the country. In fact, I dream of retiring in this country one day. Perhaps, Vancouver.
