La Torre Americana

19-Jul-2022 • Mexico City Mexico

Since it was still bright and sunny after our visit to the Basilica de Guadalupe, my partner and I decided to go up the Torre Latinoamericana located in the city center.  We tried going up the day prior but the line was so long we opted to visit another day.  From the Basilica, we took UBER once again.  Traffic around the tower was bad and so we told the UBER driver to drop us off where it was convenient for him and we would just walk since we were already very close anyway.

Though we were able to go inside the ground floor level of the tower right away, the line to go up was unbelievable!  There were hundreds of people and children.  It was Holy Week break after all and local families were sightseeing just like us.

After approximately a 30 minute wait in line, we went up.  If I remember right, we first went up to the 37th floor and then to the 44th floor by elevator. Views from the top of the tower were impressive.

Mexico City is a big City!  Very, very big!

This was my favorite view of all from above the tower.  We could see Calle Madero, the main commercial street as well as the Palacio Nacional in the Zocalo.

This was a map I wish we had since it had all the sights in the city center.  It was displayed at the top of the tower.
